Terms of use
These terms cover how you may use the Trove website, its free tools, and the resources you buy from us.
Who we sell to
Trove sells to customers in the United Kingdom. Prices are in pounds sterling and our resources are written for the English National Curriculum.
Using the site
You are welcome to use the free Wiki, Tools and School Calendar for your own teaching and planning. Please do not misuse the site or try to disrupt it for others.
Buying resources
Prices are shown on each resource and are what you pay. Trove is not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add and none is shown. Payment is taken by Stripe, on their own secure page, so we never see your card number. Your order is confirmed once payment succeeds, and your download links appear straight away on screen, in your emailed receipt, and in your account.
Your licence to use what you buy
When you buy a resource you get a licence to use it for teaching in your own classroom, for as long as you like. You may print it, copy it for your own pupils, and display it on your whiteboard. You may not resell it, share it outside your school, upload it to another website or resource-sharing service, or pass it off as your own. If your whole school or trust needs a licence, email us and we will sort something out.
Use at home
If you buy a resource as a parent or home educator, you get a licence to use it with the children in your own household, for as long as you like. You may print it and copy it for them. You may not resell it, share it outside your household, upload it to another website or resource-sharing service, or pass it off as your own.
Cancelling your order
You normally have 14 days to cancel a distance purchase. Because our resources are digital files delivered immediately, that right ends for each resource at the moment you download it, and you tick a box at checkout to confirm you understand that before you pay. We record which wording you agreed to, so we can always show you the exact words you accepted. Anything in your order you have not downloaded is still within the 14 days, and you can cancel just those items.
Refunds after you have downloaded
Once a resource is downloaded, a refund is at our discretion rather than your right. In practice we are generous: if a resource is faulty, will not open, or is not what the page said it was, email hello@trove.education and we will put it right or refund you. We would rather fix it than keep your money.
What happens to the file
If we do refund you, you keep the file. We do not take back access to something you have already downloaded, and we do not ask you to delete it. The one exception is a chargeback: if you dispute the payment with your bank rather than asking us, we treat that as a fraud signal and access is withdrawn.
How a refund is paid
You get back what you paid, in the form you paid it. Money comes back as money, to the card you used. Reward points you spent come back as points. If an order used both, both are returned separately, so a points-funded resource is never refunded as cash. Points the order earned are taken back. If those points have already been spent, your balance can go below zero: you can still buy as normal, but you cannot redeem points until it is back up.
Reward points
You earn one point for each whole pound you spend, worked out on the order total after any discount. Ten points gets you a free worksheet, any single priced up to £1.50. You can redeem more than once in an order, and points cannot be spent on packs or bundles for now. Points have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and are never paid out as money. They do not expire, but we may change how the scheme works in future, and we will tell you before we do.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else is using your account. If you buy as a guest, we set up an account against your email so your purchases and points are recoverable, and you can claim it whenever you like.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account whenever you want. We remove your personal details, but we have to keep a record of what was sold and for how much, because HMRC requires it. That record is kept with your details stripped out of it, so it is no longer about you. Files you have already downloaded are yours to keep.
Free resources
Some resources are free. We ask for your email address so we can send you the file and save it to your account. Free resources carry the same classroom licence as paid ones.
Our content
The resources, articles and tools on Trove are our intellectual property or used with permission. You may use them in your own classroom, but please do not resell or redistribute them as your own.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep everything accurate and curriculum-aligned, but we provide the free tools "as is". Term dates and similar information are a guide and can vary by school and local authority. Always check against your own school's arrangements.
Changes
We may update these terms as Trove grows. We will post the current version here, and the date it changed is shown below.
