Cookies & local storage

Trove keeps its use of cookies and similar technologies to a minimum. Here is the full picture.

What we use

The site uses your browser's local storage, which stays on your device, for: your light or dark theme; what is in your basket; a discount code you have entered (for this visit only); resources you asked to save before signing in, until you do; a record of free resources you claimed as a guest; whether this browser has sent its occasional error-reporting check-in; your answer to the cookie question, and when you gave it; the campaign tag on the link that first brought you here, if it had one (such as "ig-day3"), for 30 days; and, if you sign in, your sign-in session. None of it is used to track you across other websites.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful, and Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages load. Neither uses cookies, stores your IP address or can follow you to other websites, so there is nothing here for you to accept or refuse.

Advertising: the Meta Pixel

When we advertise on Facebook and Instagram, we use the Meta Pixel to see whether those adverts lead to visits and orders. It only runs if you agree to it when the site asks, and nothing is sent to Meta before then. If you agree, Meta sets a cookie called _fbp, plus one called _fbc if you arrived from one of our adverts, each lasting up to 90 days. The pixel tells Meta which pages you open, which resources and packs you look at or add to your basket, and when you start checkout or complete an order, with the order's value. Meta may link this to a Facebook or Instagram account you are signed in to and uses it under its own privacy policy. We never send Meta your name, email address or payment details. To count an order only once, the site also keeps a short note of your basket total in this tab's session storage, which your browser deletes when you close the tab.

What we do not do

We do not use any advertising cookies or tracking other than the Meta Pixel described above, and we do not sell any data about your visit.

Managing it

You can change your mind about the Meta Pixel at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. You can also clear this data through your browser settings. Clearing it will reset your saved theme and empty your basket on that device. It will not affect anything you have already bought, which is held against your account.
